Carl’s love of baking began at the age of 7. Since he had freedom to explore in the kitchen growing up (as long as he cleaned up when he was finished ), he was able to experiment with ingredients, mixtures, recipes and techniques in an enjoyable and creative way. While Carl completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering, his interest in baking was always present.

The magic began when Carl started to combine his Engineering skills with his passion for baking. He thought, if he could build complex machines that run thousands of hours, why couldn’t he create a system to build complex cakes?

He started to “build” all natural cakes for family and friends. Everyone was intrigued by the cakes he was making and he realized that he was onto something. That “something” became Carl Bayer Cakes.
